Who doesn’t love recipes which are easy to make, take just a few minutes to prepare and tastes equally good? Today we have come up with one such recipe which is super easy to prepare and all you need is a few ingredients. This tomato uttapam recipe is perfect for breakfast as well as for mid meal hunger pangs. So without any further due let’s get started with the recipe.
Ingredients:
- Semolina/sooji/rava- 100 gm or ½ cup
- Tomato- 2 small sized (Chopped)
- Green chilli- 1 (finely chopped)
- Water- ½ cup
- Curd/yogurt- 3 tbsp.
- Baking soda- ¼ tsp.
- Salt as per taste
- Oil for cooking
Procedure:
- 1. In a bowl mix the rava, water and yogurt. Rest the batter for at least 30 minutes.
- 2. While the batter is resting you can chop the tomatoes and chili.
- 3. Once the batter has rested, add the salt and baking soda to it. Mix the batter well.
- 4. Heat a non-stick pan or tawa and oil it. Now ladle the rava mixture in the centre of the tawa and spread it in a circular shape. Do not spread it too thin.
- 5. Add the chopped tomatoes and green chillies on the raw top of the uttapam.
- 6. Once the uttapam has cooked from one side, carefully flip it over and cook on the other side too. Press the uttapam gently so that the tomatoes may stick to the uttapam.
- 7. Drizzle some oil on the sides so as to let the uttapam cook evenly. Once the tomatoes have softened and browned up a little, it means your uttapam is ready.
- 8. Serve the tomato uttapam with coconut or coriander chutney.
