Time and again, we have criticized Bollywood for copying characters, stories or the entire movie from Hollywood. But, did you know, that there were times when the West took an inspiration from our B-town and made a few of the Bollywood’s remakes in Hollywood Style.

In fact, in an international interview, Quentin Tarantino, known to be the God Of Hollywood cinema, announced that he picked an action sequence of Kill Bill from a Bollywood film. So yes, even Hollywood sometimes takes a leap of faith in trying their luck in copying Bollywood movies and making them with their own twist.

A Wednesday as A Common Man

The only Bollywood movie, A Wednesday, that has officially made its remake versions in Tamil and Telugu. Even Hollywood couldn’t resist to sit back and remade a version of this which was named A Common Man, which starred Ben Kingsley as the lead.

Vicky Donor as A Delivery Man

Most of us thought that Hollywood’s A Delivery Man (2013) was a rip-off of Bollywood’s Vicky Donor (2012), but in real, both the films are a copy of a French-Canadian Comedy movie, Starbuck.

Abhay as Kill Bill

Not the entire movie, but just an action sequence, that inspired the god of cinema, Quentin Tarantino, to put it in a Hollywood chartbuster Kill Bill. When Anurag Kashyap met Tarantino in Venice, they had a conversation about this subject that went for hours and Quentin accepted that he got so much inspired from Bollywood’s Abhay that he decided to put that action sequence in his next action movie.

Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? as Just Go With It

Just like Vicky Donor, all of us confused Just Go With It of being a copy of Bollywood’s Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? But, the truth is that both the films were inspired from an American Comedy Cactus Flower (1969).

Parinda as Broken Horses

Though we all watched Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Bollywood remake of the Hindi film Parinda in 2015, Hollywood left no stone unturned to re-create the drama in their Western Version, Broken Horses. But it failed to impress its western audience as the film received mixed reviews.

Sangam as Pearl Harbor

It’s still not clear if Pearl Harbor (2001) was a remake of or an “inspiration” from Bollywood’s Sangam (1964). But the story sure has an uncanny similarity, that whoever watches the films will instantly correlate with each other.
