Monsoon can be very damaging for a lot of things including your leather shoes. If not taken care of properly you might just lose that expensive pair of leather shoes/sandals that you own. In order to keep your leather shoes/sandals safe during the monsoon follow the below mentioned tips.
1. Let them air dry- If your leather shoes or sandals have got wet in the rain, just let them air dry. You can pat dry the excess water from the shoes with a soft cloth and then let them air dry. You can also put some tissue paper into the shoes as the tissue paper will absorb the excess water from the shoe. But no matter what never use a hair dryer to dry your shoes as the hot air from the hair dryer may ruin the texture of the shoes and may also lead to cracks. The best way is to dry them under a fan.

Keep them stored in a place where it will be safe from the moisture. if you don’t wear your shoes on a regular basis then make sure to stuff them with newspaper and store them in a cloth bag. If you keep your shoes in a wooden closet, then there are chances that moisture may reach your shoes. In order to prevent that you can keep silica gel sachets in your shoes.
