It’s merry time again and it’s the time of the year when New Year is about to approach and the spirits are really high. Celebrations, Music and Dance besides holidays make this time altogether a fantastic affair. Christmas is one of the most awaited and anticipated festival for everyone around the world as everyone has their own way to celebrate it.
But we all want to make it even more special. Isn’t? But if you were asked, how you can make this Christmas more special, what comes to your mind??….Pubs, Discos, Friends, Party and…..?? Well, there are many other ways to make it special or even a cherished one. One of these is spending time with your loved ones. Often in the sheer ignorance of youth, we forget that we have failed our loved ones in spending quality time with them. Throughout the year we are all too busy with our own affairs that it makes it almost impossible to be with them. Thus make a point to make this Christmas special for yourself also special for them. Read on to find out how:
Spend Time with your Parents
Parents are your most important assets. They have brought you in this beautiful world and have educated you and made you able to think and reach where you are now. Spend a good amount of time with them. Tell them how much you love them and about your achievements and ambitions. Remember, they are your well wishers as no one and would be happy to share your dreams and aspirations.
Spend Time with your Children
Children are those precious pearls that you have brought into this world. But for them you are the world, so make sure that you spend time with them or take them out for an outing and they will love it. Or make their Christmas special by getting them their favourite stuff.
Spend Time with your Spouse
Your spouse is your better half, your love and your ultimate companion. In this hard and hectic life, often we forget that the flame that constantly burns for us is our spouse, who constantly look for some time to spend with you. Make sure you make this Christmas special for them. Make a special and their favourite dish for them. Take time to share happy memories of your union and think together of ways how you can make this bond even stronger.
Spend Time with Old People
Next comes the old people for whom we should make this Christmas special. If you have grandparents at home, make sure you spend your time with them and pass your Christmas wishes and salutations to them, as all they need is your love and care. They have seen many Christmas and just as you, they were also once young and may be feeling nostalgic with some happy and some painful memories. Make sure you share with them their memories and make them feel loved and wanted.
Spend Time with your Pets
Your pets are your most loyal and trusted friends. Even if you desert them, they will never desert you. Just as ordinary human beings, they also crave for love and would be happy to spend time with you. Remember to give them a special treat this Christmas. Play with them and give them a lot of love and see how delighted they will be in your company
Spend Time with Poor People and Children
I remember how I used to anticipate Christmas in expectation of gifts. Childhood is a phase encased in sheer innocence and emotions. I now realize that when I can anticipate and expect, so can other children of slums, streets and orphanages. Try to make this Christmas special for them by distributing some of their favourite delicacies and stuff and spending time with them.
Spend Time with God
Last but not the least, after you have given a fair share of time your loved ones, sit for some time in meditation and remember God. No matter what religion you belong to, thank Him for all the blessings He has bestowed over you and appeal to Him to be with you always. Remember, God is your ultimate friend and protector so as well make a promise to think of him at least for some time every day.
Christmas is all about the spirit of giving and the more we give the more we will get back in the form of love and affection from others. That’s the best way to celebrate Christmas. So don’t stop this time and give away your best to others and say “Jingle Bells all the Way”.
