1. Sterling Silver Jewellery
Humidity in the air reacts with the silver to form the tarnished silver oxides. This imparts the blackish colour to the tarnished silver. You can use the baking soda with aluminium to get rid of this blackness.

Things you’ll be needing:

  • Aluminium Foil
  • Boiling Water
  • Baking Soda

How to Clean?
Take a glass bowl and keep your jewellery in it. Sprinkles some baking soda on top of it. Pour some boiling water on it so that the jewellery is soaked in it. Take a piece of aluminium foil and drop it in the bowl and leave the bowl for some time.
You will see some bubbles rising from the bowl due to the release of sulphuric gases. It will smell like rotten eggs. Use a plastic chopstick to shake the jewellery every now and then, such that they are cleaned properly. Place your jewellery in another bowl with cold water. Rinse them gently. Keep them on the washcloth to dry off.

2. Diamond Jewellery
You will be needing the same things as above to clean the diamond jewellery. In place of the bowl, you can take a cup. Take a cup of hot water and add a tablespoon of baking soda to it. Place your diamond trinkets in it. Leave it soaked for few minutes. You don’t need to add the aluminium foil in the water. After few minutes, take the rings out and rinse them in cold water. Wipe them off using a soft washcloth.
