1. NARGIS DUTT
This beautiful yesteryear Bollywood diva chose love over everything. She switched to Sunil Dutt’s religion before marriage, who was a Hindu and Nargis was a muslin girl, where religion did not allow her to marry a Hindu boy. They both fell in love on the sets of Mother India, and publicized it only after their marriage. She even adopted a Hindu name, Nirmala Dutt and embraced her newly found love her partner’s religion quite well.

2. SHARMILA TAGORE
Everyone is well aware of the love story of this royal couple! Sharmila Tagore debuted from Bengali films and made her way into the Bollywood quite well. Famed and shamed for the first ‘Bikini’ appearance ever on screen, she never let such controversies bother her rising career. Soon after she fell in love with the royal cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Nawab of Pataudi, who was a Muslim from religion. Before getting married she converted into a Muslim and adopted her new name as Begum Ayesha Sultana.

3. AMRITA SINGH
Though Saif Ali Khan is now happily married to Kareena Kapoor Khan, but before her, Amrita Singh was the first woman to marry this new Nawab of Pataudi! Originally Sikh by birth religion, Amrita Singh converted to a Muslim to marry Saif Ali Khan before marriage, to prove her true love for him. The age difference and their religions were a big issue amongst their parents, but they still got married after all the fuss. Their love story didn’t last for long, though, but still, it was an epic love story to be witnessed by all.

Though she never got married, the South Indian beauty changed her religion in the name of love, not for a man but for the love for the religion itself. After trying her hand in politics, she has now turned into a Christian for the love of Jesus Christ. With her amazing knowledge of the Bible, she stunned everyone at the meeting and wishes to share what Jesus has to offer to us in every town she wends on.

5. AYESHA TAKIA AZMI
It is not yet being clarified by the bubbly Bollywood actress herself, whether she converted her religion before her marriage to Farhan Azmi, who happens to be a restaurateur, or she remained a Hindu. They tied the knot in 2009 that too in a typical Muslim style wedding called Nikaah. Even after all these years, Ayesha gave birth to a boy and is living happily ever after with Farhan.
