  • For the hariyali masala:
  • Coriander leaves- 1 cup
  • Mint leaves- ½ cup
  • Onion- 1/3 cup, chopped
  • Green chilli- 3
  • Ginger garlic paste- ½ tbsp.

Procedure:

  1.  In a pan dry roast (on a low flame) the spices mentioned under the spice powder category. Once roasted remove from the pan and put them on a plate to cool down.
  2.  Once the spices have cooled down, transfer them to a grinder and grind them to get a fine powder. Transfer the spice powder to a bowl and set aside.
  3.  Now in the same grinder add all the ingredients for the hariyali masala and grind them to get a smooth paste.
  4.  Heat oil in a pan and add the shahi jeera and the curry leaves to it. Sauté for a few seconds.
  5.  Now add the chicken and cook until you can see it changing colour and turning white.
  6.  Put on a lid and let the chicken cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7.  Now add the hariyali paste and the prepared spice powder to the chicken. Fry the chicken for 2 minutes and then again put on the lid and cook it for 2 more minutes.
  8.  Add the coconut milk or the water and the salt. Mix well and simmer until the chicken is completely cooked.
  9.  Serve the hariyali chicken hot with naan, roti or rice.
