How to Make: Sooji ki Puri

We all relish having hot and delicious puris in our lunch and dinner. We Indians just want an excuse to fill our tummy with sumptuous Puri along with a spicy aloo sabzi. But aren’t you bored eating the same kind of puri all over again? Let’s bring about some twist in your regular puris. This recipe will tell you how to make Sooji ki Puri at home easily.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup semolina (sooji)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp cashew
    ½ tsp raisins
  • Ghee as per need
  • 1 pinch food colour
  • 3 cup wheat flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as required

How to Make Sooji ki Puri?

  1.  Heat some desi ghee in a hard-bottomed pan and fry the semolina in it.
  2.  Keep some milk on the gas for boiling. When the milk comes to a boil, add some semolina and mix them well.
  3.  Add some ghee and cook it.
  4.  When the semolina is roasted well, add sugar, food colour, cardamom powder and mix it well.
  5.  Heat some ghee in a pan and add the cashew and raisins to it. Add these roasted raisins and cashews to the semolina mixture.
  6.  Take some wheat flour and add some salt and milk to it. Prepare a soft dough with it.
  7.  Heat oil in another pan. Prepare the small balls with the dough prepared above. Press one dough from the centre and put some semolina mixture in it. Seal the dough with your hands. roll it down to make a puri.
  8.  Fry the puri in the oil till it turns crisp and brown.
  9.  Your tasty Sooji ki Puri is ready to eat.
