Renowned British Scientist Stephen Hawking Dies At 76

However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up.

I’m not afraid of death, but I’m in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do first.

These were the few golden words given to us by the famous British cosmologist and physicist, Stephen Hawking who passed away today. The sad news was revealed by the family, and the 76-year-old took his last breath in his sleep.

Hawking was diagnosed with a rare form of a motor neuron when he was just 22 years in the year 1963 and was only given two years to live. Still, this man didn’t lose hope and confined his life to the wheelchair. And when his condition became worse, he had to use voice synthesizer for speaking.  

Stephen Hawking was a physicist who had 13 honorary degrees according to the biography posted on his website and was also awarded Adams prize in 1966, Albert Einstein Award in 1978 and many more. Besides this, he was also honored with CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in 1982 and Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009.

Hawking was not just an exceptional scientist but was an author too who won many awards for his publications. Some of his popular books include, A Brief History of Time, The Universe in a Nutshell, and My Brief History.

There were also many movies and series inspired by him which includes, The Theory of Everything starring Eddie Redmayne and still considered as one of the best biopics made on him.
