Here I will share a simple recipe that is the fusion of a South Indian dish and Chinese cuisine and that is Idli Manchurian. It is one of the simple and quick recipes that you can easily make at home. And it works best for you when you have leftover Idlis at home.

This Idli Manchurian recipe adds a twist to the usual Idli and can also be served as breakfast or a mid-day snack with tea. With this recipe, you can also treat your sudden guests as it is easy to make and less time-consuming.

Serves: 2

Ingredients needed for Idli Manchurian:

• Idli- 5
• Onion – 1 (chopped)
• Green Chilli- 4 (chopped)
• Tomato- 1 (chopped)
• Tamarind paste (Imli)- 1/2 teaspoon
• Turmeric powder- 1 teaspoon
• Garam masala- 1 teaspoon
• Thymol (Ajwain) – 1/2 teaspoon
• Salt- 1 tablespoon
• Cumin seeds (Jeera)- 1/2 teaspoon
• Oil- 2 tablespoons
• Coriander- For garnish

How to prepare:

• First, take the idlis and chop them into medium size pieces and keep it aside.
• Now, take a pan and heat the cooking oil and add thymol seeds and cumin seeds to the pan.
• Once you hear the popping sound of the seeds add chopped vegetables in the pan.
• And cook them for 2 minutes.
• After two minutes, add tamarind paste in the veggies and cook till the paste mix well with the vegetables.
• Now, add turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt to the veggies and stir them.
• When you see the tomatoes getting soft, add idli pieces to the pan and mix all the ingredients well.
• Light off the flame and keep it aside to cool down.
• Your yummy and super easy Idlii Manchurian is ready to be served.

Before serving, garnish Idli Manchurian with coriander leaves. You can also use oregano and chilli flakes to the garnish.
