Delicious Gobi Manchurian

Chinese food is the second favourite cuisine of the Indians and there is no doubt in that. The smell of the fragrant gravies and rice is enough to make your mouth water. Keeping your cravings in mind, we have come up with an easy to follow the recipe of Gobi Manchurian. This is the perfect accompaniment for your evening tea or a kitty party snack, as it is super easy and quick to prepare. So what are you waiting for, let get started with this tasty recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Cauliflower- 400 gm
  • Garlic- 5-6 cloves (Chopped)
  • Onion- 2 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger paste- 2 tbsp.
  • Green chili- 2
  • All-purpose flour- 4 tbsp.
  • Corn flour- 5 tbsp.
  • Tomato ketchup- 2 tbsp.
  • Chili sauce- 1 tsp.
  • Soya sauce- 1 tsp.
  • Vinegar- 1 tsp.
  • Black pepper- ¼ tsp. (Crushed)
  • Fresh coriander- finely chopped
  • Ajinomoto- 1 tsp.
  • Salt to taste

Procedure:

1. Start by cutting the cauliflower into smaller florets. Now add the florets in boiling water with some salt and blanch for 5 minutes. Take out the florets from the water and let the water drain.

2. Separate 1 tbsp. and use the rest of the cornflour and the all-purpose flour to make a thick batter. Add some salt and pepper to the batter and mix it well.

3. Now in a kadhai, heat up some oil for deep frying the cauliflower.
4. One by one start dipping the cauliflower florets in the prepared batter and deep fry them in the oil. Once golden brown, take out the florets from the oil and let the excess oil soak up on a kitchen towel.

5. Now we will start with the Manchurian sauce.
6. In a bowl, add the remaining corn flour and mix it with ½ cup water. Make sure there are no lumps in it.
7. Now in a pan, heat up some oil and into the hot oil, add the chopped onion and green chili.

8. Once the onion is golden brown, add the garlic and ginger paste. Cook it for 2 minutes.
9. Add the corn flour water and mix.
10. Now add the chili sauce, soya sauce, tomato ketchup and vinegar to it and let the sauce simmer.

11. Now add some salt and Ajinomoto to the sauce.
12. Finally, add the fried cauliflower florets to the sauce and cook for a minute.
13. Garnish your Gobi Manchurian with fresh chopped coriander and serve hot.
