Do’s

- Clean your face thoroughly before bleaching your skin. Get rid of any dirt or oil on the face. Oiliness on the face can cause the bleach to slide of your skin.
- Tie your hair into a ponytail and if you have bangs, keep them away from falling off on your face using bobby pins or a hairband. You wouldn’t like to accidentally bleach your hair and look like a partial blonde.
- Follow the instructions carefully. Carefully mix the contents, the bleach powder and the activator in the correct proportions. Do not experiment with the quantities.
- If you have sensitive skin, do a patch test before applying the whole product on your face. If you get a reaction from the bleach, stay away from it.
- Make sure to use a pre-bleach cream if it is provided with the pack. Most of the good brands of bleach come with a pre-bleach cream or a serum to protect your skin from the harsh action of the bleach.
- Pamper your skin after getting your bleach done. Apply a soothing mask, night cream and you can also spritz some cucumber toner on your skin on a daily basis.
- Use a spatula to apply the bleach on your face. Do not use your hand as it contain many germs and bacteria.
- If possible, bleach your skin in the evening or night. This way you can apply your night serum immediately after bleaching your skin. The serum will work on your skin while you’re asleep and restore your skin’s balance. Another reason for bleaching in the night is that you don’t need to fear going out in the sun post bleaching.

Don’ts
- Never mix the contents of your bleach in a metal bowl. The metal of the bowl can react with the chemicals of the bleach to give out a completely different action on your skin. Use a glass bowl, preferably.
- Never apply the bleach on the sensitive areas of your face like around the eyes, corners of the nose and boundaries of your lips. It could cause burn and irritation on that skin. Rashes can also appear if bleach is applied on these areas.
- Do not, I repeat DO NOT step out in the sun immediately after getting your bleach done. Your skin becomes more delicate after bleaching. So schedule your routine in a way that you don’t need to go out in the sun after bleaching. If there’s some dire need to go out, use a good quality sunscreen and cover your face with a scarf.
- I guess you’re pretty smart to know this warning before. Never apply the bleach on the open wounds or an active acne. You should leave those areas and apply the bleach on the remaining areas. It will cause the serious damage to your skin if applied to the broken or inflamed skin.
