Masala Corn Recipe

-

Masala corn is one of my absolute favourite snacks. Not only does it taste good but it is also very healthy and filling. It is super easy to prepare and hardly takes any time. All you have to do is boil or steam the corn and mix it with spices and butter (or olive oil, if you want to make it healthy). The best part is that kids too love this recipe and won’t mind eating it as an evening snack. So without any further due, let’s get started with the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Sweet corn kernels- 1 cup
  • Butter- 2-3 tsp.
  • Red chilli powder- ½ tsp.
  • Lemon juice- 1-2 tsp.
  • Chaat masala- ½ tsp.
  • Dried oregano- ¼ tsp.
  • Coriander leaves- 2-3 tsp.
  • Salt- as per taste

Procedure:

  1.  Cook the sweet corn cob either in a pressure cooker or you can also steam it.
  2.  To cook it in the pressure cooker, place the cob in the pressure cooker along with 1 ½ cup of water and cook it for 2-3 whistles.
  3.  Once the cob is cooked, slice the kernels off the cob with the help of a knife.
  4.  Transfer the corn kernels to a medium sized bowl.
  5.  Add the butter to the corn kernels. No need to melt the butter as the heat from the corn is enough to melt the butter.
  6.  Add the chilli powder, chaat masala, lemon juice, oregano, chopped coriander and a tiny bit of salt (if required).
  7.  Mix everything really well.
  8.  Add more chilli and seasonings if required.
  9.  Transfer the corn to a serving bowl and serve warm.
