You may have eaten paneer tikka so many times at restaurants, but hardly ever thought of making it at home mainly because of the reason that you don’t have a tandoor or the clay oven in which the paneer tikka is cooked. Well, not anymore because you can easily prepare your favourite melt in your mouth paneer tikka very easily at your home as well. All you need is our easy to follow recipe and a little bit of patience and you can treat yourself and your family this aromatic homemade paneer tikka. So let’s get started.

Paneer Tikka On Tawa

Ingredients:

  • Paneer- 250 gm (cubed)
  • Chaat masala- 1 tsp.
  • Lemon juice- ½ tsp.
  • Red chili powder- ½ tsp.
  • Cumin or jeera powder- ½ tsp.
  • Curd or yogurt- 100 gm
  • Ginger paste- ½ tsp.
  • Green chili paste- ½ tsp
  • Turmeric- ½ tsp.
  • Chickpea flour or besan- ¾ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Edible food color (optional)
  • Fresh coriander- 1 tbsp. (finely chopped)
  • Oil to shallow fry
  • Onion

Procedure:

1. In a bowl big bowl adds the yogurt, lemon juice, red chili powder, cumin powder, ginger paste, green chili paste, turmeric powder, chickpea flour, salt and the food colouring and mix it all really well. Now add the cubes of paneer to this paste and mix it well.

2. Let the paneer marinate in this paste for at least 30 minutes.

3. After the paneer has marinated, heat up some oil in a non-stick pan.

4. When the oil is hot, start adding the paneer cubes in the pan and cook them evenly from all the sides. You need to cook the paneer till you get a nice golden brown colour on all the sides.

5. Once all the paneer pieces are cooked, place them on a nice plate. Sprinkle the chaat masala and chopped fresh coriander from the top.

6. Serve the hot paneer tikka with a mint-coriander chutney and onion rings.
