Nourishing Home-Made Lip Balms for Naturally Pink Lips

Pink lips are considered to be the symbol of beauty. But due to dead skin and over exposure to too many beauty products cause them to blacken out. Poor health can also be a reason behind dark and chapped lips. Constant licking and over consumption of caffeine are yet another reason for the darkening of lips. So you need to pay some extra amount of attention to your lips to retain their naturally pink colour and softness. Here are few homemade lip balms for naturally pink lips.

1. Carrot Lip Balm

Things you need:

  • 1/4th cup grated carrot
  • 4 tbsp. olive oil
  • 4 tbsp. almond oil
  • 2 tbsp. honey

Heat olive oil and almond oil in a saucepan on a low flame. Put the grated carrot in the oil. Put the lid and let it cook for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and then keep the pan aside for 1 hour. When the oil has cooled down. Strain it and add honey. You can transfer this oil in a lip balm container. Apply this lip balm and leave it overnight. The vitamin A, K and E of carrot imparts naturally pink colour to your lips.

2. Rose and Vitamin E Lip Balm

Things you need:

  • Rose petals
  • 1/4th cup sunflower oil
  • 3 tbsp. vitamin E oil

Pour some sunflower and vitamin E oil in a bowl and keep it on a medium flame. Turn off the flame when the oil boils up. Pour this hot oil on the rose petals in a bowl. Cover the lid and leave it for 2 days. Strain the oil and store it in a lip balm jar. Apply it every time you feel chapped lips. The vitamin C, B, K and the antioxidants in this lip balm will soothe the chapped lips and reduce darkness.

3. Strawberry Lip Balm

Things your need:

  • 1 strawberry
  • 3 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp. glycerine

Mash the strawberry with your hands and pour the coconut oil and glycerine. Mix it well and then store it in a lip balm jar. Apply it on your lips like your regular lip balm. The vitamin C and antioxidants of the strawberry protect heals and repair your lips. It also soothes the chapped lips while imparting a pinkish hue to the lips.

4. Brown Sugar Lip Balm

Things you need:

  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. almond oil
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter

Heat the almond oil and dissolve the brown sugar in it. Add the melted sugar. Store the lip balm in the lip balm container. Apply it on your lips twice a day just like you apply your regular lip balm. Brown sugar exfoliates the lips while the almond oil smoothens it. The vitamin E and B in the almond oil hydrates your lips all days long.
