Corn Pakoda Recipe

Today I am going to share with you a quick snack recipe which is the corn pakoda or corn fritters. Pakodas or fritters are a very popular snack recipe which is very popular and loved by all. You can basically turn anything and everything into fritters and enjoy it with your family. Here is a step by step recipe of the corn pakora for you to try.

Ingredients:

  • Sweet corn- 1 ½ cup
  • Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp.
  • Cumin- ½ tsp.
  • Gram flour/besan- 2-3 tbsp.
  • Rice flour- 2-3 tbsp.
  • Garam masala- ½ tsp.
  • Onion- 1 small (thinly sliced)
  • Green chilli- 2, finely chopped
  • Curry leaves- 1-2 sprigs
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Turmeric- a pinch
  • Red chilli powder- ½ tsp.
  • Oil- for deep frying

Procedure:

  1.  For this recipe, you can use fresh corn. If you don’t get fresh corn, then you can also use frozen corn as well.
  2.  If you are using fresh corn on the cob, then steam them until soft. When cooked remove the corn kernels from the cob  with the help of a knife.
  3.  If you are using frozen corn, then make sure to rinse them really well.
  4.  Coarsely grind the corn kernels in a grinder and transfer to a bowl.
  5.  Now add all the ingredients to the ground corn and mix really well.
  6.  Add the salt as per your taste and mix well.
  7.  Heat oil in a kadhai. When the oil is hot enough start adding small portions of the corn mixture into the oil.
  8.  Fry the corn pakoras evenly from all the sides until golden and crisp.
  9.  Once cooked remove the pakoras on a paper towel and drain the excess oil.
  10.  Serve the corn pakoras hot with mint coriander chutney and ketchup.
