Kadai mutton is a mutton stew which is prepared in a kadhai. Thus the name kadai mutton. The recipe that I have shared today is a gravy version. You can make the dry version as well using the same ingredients. All you have to do is reduce the quantity of water you add to it. This is a fairly easy non-veg recipe that anyone can prepare. So without any further due let’s get started with the recipe.

Ingredients:
- Mutton- 750 gm
- Onions- 2 cups (chopped)
- Tomatoes- 1 cup (chopped)
- Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp.
- Green chillies- 6-8 (slit)
- Red chilli powder- ½ tsp.
- Curd- 3-4 tbsp.
- Garam masala powder- ½ tsp.
- Meat masala powder- ½ tsp.
- Coriander powder- ½ tsp.
- Turmeric powder- ½ tsp.
- Kasuri methi- ½ tsp.
- Fresh coriander- ½ cup (chopped)
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- as required
Procedure:
- Â Add the mutton to a pressure cooker with a pinch of turmeric to it. Add water to it and cook it until two whistles.
- Â Let the pressure settle down and then open the lid.
- Â Now heat oil in a kadhai and shallow fry the cooked mutton in it. Cook the mutton for 5 minutes and then add the chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilli, ginger garlic paste, garam masala, coriander powder and red chilli powder.
- Â Add water and cook all the ingredients.
- Â Now add the meat masala, kasuri methi and continue cooking.
- Â Let the mutton cook on a low flame.
- Â Now add 3-4 tbsp. of fresh curd to the gravy and cook for 10-15 minutes.
- Â Garnish the kadai mutton with fresh chopped coriander.
- Â Serve the kadai mutton hot with roti, naan or steamed rice.
