Raw Banana Patties Recipe

Who could have thought that something like a raw banana could be used to make something as sumptuous as banana patties? Banana patties are a snack item and unlike your regular banana, raw bananas are not at sweet in taste and are used to prepare savoury items. So today we are going to share with you this amazing recipe for raw banana patties which is a perfect appetiser for your kitty parties as well as an evening snack. So without any further due, let’s get started with the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Raw banana- 400 gm
  • Cashews- 10-12 (crushed)
  • Ginger- ½ tsp. finely chopped
  • Green chilli- 1 (finely chopped)
  • Black pepper- ½ tsp. (crushed)
  • Cumin/jeera powder- ½ tsp.
  • Fresh mint- 1 tsp. (finely chopped)
  • Cornflour- 2 tbsp. (for binding)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil for shallow frying

Procedure:

  1.  Put the raw bananas in the pressure cooker and add ½ cup water. Pressure cook the bananas for 3 whistles or till they are soft.
  2.  Once all the pressure has escaped, open the pressure cooker. Let the bananas cool down a bit.
  3.  Peel the bananas and keep them in a bowl.
  4.  Mash the bananas really well with a fork. Add the crushed cashews, ginger, green chilli, black pepper, jeera powder, mint, cornflour and salt to the mashed banana. Mix everything really well.
  5.  Now distribute the mixture into equal parts and shape them into patties.
  6.  In a frying pan, heat up some oil. Place the patties in the hot oil and cook them on a medium-low flame.
  7.  Cook the patties on one side until crisp and golden brown. Now carefully flip the patties and let them cook from the other side as well.
  8.  Take out the patties on the kitchen towel and let the excess oil drain out.
  9.  Serve your banana patties hot with your favourite chutney.
