Ingredients
- Skinned Urad Dal (Dhuli Urad Dal)- ½ bowl
- ½ bowl curd- ½ kg
- Salt to taste
- Sugar- 2 tablespoon
- Asafoetida (heeng)- pinch
- Raisins- 1 tablespoon
- Cashew- 1 tablespoon
- Roasted cumin seeds- 1 tablespoon
- Red Chilli Powder- 1 teaspoon
- Refined oil
- Finely chopped coriander

How to make Bhalla Papdi Chaat?
Wash the Skinned Urad dal and soak it in water for 2 hours. Remove the water from the lentils and grind it with some heeng. Make a thick paste. Add 1/4th teaspoon salt to the paste and mix it well. Take a bowl full of water, drop a dash of the mixture into water. If it floats, then the mixture is ready.

Heat some oil in a pan. Take the Urad dal batter prepared in above steps and make small pockets out of it. Stuff the raisins and cashew nuts in between them and then seat them. Press it a little using your finger and then deep fry it. You can fry 4-5 Bhalla together in a pan. Take them out of the oil when they are golden brown. Prepare all the Bhalla by this method.

Take a large bowl of water and add salt to it. Soak these freshly prepared Bhalla into it for 10 minutes. When they become soft, take them out and squeeze the water from the Bhalla. Keep them on a plate.
Whip the curd properly using a beater. Add ½ teaspoon of salt and some sugar according to your taste. Add those Bhalla in the curd and add red chilli powder, roasted cumin seeds powder and Chaat masala. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
