And for these parathas, you don’t need to set the dough for a longer period of time. One such traditional Punjabi paratha is the missi roti recipe which is a very popular and easy-to-prepare. Ingredients needed for missi roti recipe:
Wholemeal flour- 1 cup
Gram flour- 1/2 cup
Green chilli- 2 (chopped)
Salt- 1/2 teaspoon
Thymol seeds- 1/4th teaspoon
Kasoori methi powder- 1 teaspoon
Turmeric- 1/4th teaspoon
Onion (chopped)- 2 tablespoons
Coriander leaves (chopped)- 1 tablespoon
Oil- 1 teaspoon
Butter- 1 tablespoon

Now, how to make missi roti:
First, take a large bowl and put gram flour and wholemeal flour in it.
Add salt, green chilli, onion, turmeric powder, and thymol seeds.
Then, add kasoori methi, coriander leaves to the mixture.
Mix all the ingredients properly and add oil to it.
After adding the oil again mix all the ingredients.
Now, gently add some water to the flour and knead the flour into a nice dough.
When the dough is ready, coat the dough with oil and knead again.
After that transfer, it into a separate bowl and cover it with a damp cloth.
Keep the dough aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
Now, take some dough and make a ball.
Then, dust it with some wheat flour and roll it into a roti.
In the meantime, put tawa on medium flame.
Once the tawa gets hot, place the rolled roti on the tawa and cook.
After minute flip the roti, apply some butter and cook it on the other side.
Then, again flip the roti and apply roti.
Press the edges of the roti with a spatula to cook it evenly.
Once the roti becomes brown from both the sides, transfer it to a separate plate.
Serve it with the dish of your choice.
And your missi roti is ready.
