But, do you guys know that you can use your favorite tomato ketchup for cleaning? Yes, you heard that right. You can use tomato ketchup for cleaning various household items and other things. Tomatoes are naturally acidic in nature, and when it is processed into ketchup, the vinegar content added to it makes it more acidic. And for this reason, it can be used as the cleaning agent. 1. For cleaning brass items

Brass is generally used in furniture like your door handles to show pieces. Usually, the lamps and idols made of brass get dark and dirty after a period of time and demand cleaning. And at that time, you can use tomato ketchup to clean brass things as it breaks down the dirt if kept for a proper time. You can also place small brass items in the bowl full of ketchup and then, wipe it off with a soft cloth and rinse.
2. Shine your car

Washing your car with tomato ketchup may not help in removing the dirt. But, it helps in restoring the shine of your car. Just wash your car in the usual way with soap and water and then, wipe your car with a soft cloth to rub tomato ketchup all over. And then, again wash off your car with normal water.
3. Clean your silverware

If your silverware is not stored properly, then there are chances that it might come in contact with the air and form a copper oxide which can make it look dull. But, you can bring back it’s shine effectively by simply soaking the silverware in a bowl of tomato ketchup for 10 minutes. Still, you need to be sure that you don’t leave them for a longer period of time as they can get damaged. And if the silverware has a lot of detailing, then you can swipe an old toothbrush around to make it shinier.
4. Remove rust from furniture

It is heart-breaking to see your furniture covered with rust. But, thankfully we have tomato ketchup for the rescue. You can easily use the tomato ketchup to clean up all the rust stains. Just rub it on the affected areas and let it sit for a while. Then, wash off and let the furniture dry. 6. Clean copperware

It is said that cooking in copper utensils is very healthy but, because of its maintenance concerns, most people avoid preparing food in them. But, now you don’t need to worry much about its maintenance as you can use tomato ketchup for cleaning it. Just apply some ketchup over the utensils and leave them for 15 -20 minutes. Now, polish them with a clean cloth and rinse.
