Youth is a time everybody misses- perhaps it’s the best time of our lives! All those wild times and fun one had with their besties are priceless moments of a lifetime! As you begin to age, everything seems to change. Entering the 30s, a woman seems to undergo the most crucial transitions in her life. Be it family, relationship, work or the most basic thing to her- herself. If you are in your 30s, you have to be more cautious about your beauty and appearance. Of course, you are a mature woman now. You have responsibilities. People depend on you. But this doesn’t mean that your fashion or beauty regime becomes trivial. And all the ladies would definitely agree with me that style is of as much importance to them now as it used to.
At this age, some of us are mothers or career women or both. You already know how important it is to balance everything in your life and are probably doing pretty well in the same. Now it’s time to do the same with our styling and fashion statement. Being in your 30s means to maintain a balance between looking gracefully young and seamlessly mature at the same time. When style meets your ensemble, it shouldn’t be too provocative. What was crazy and wild in your 20s won’t be so cool now. Having said that, it doesn’t have to be dull & boring either! You can experiment with stuff, but have to make sure not to cross the thin line to look tacky or cheap. It doesn’t matter if you are a homemaker or a corporate woman, everybody needs to be dressed well at all times and look her best.
Professional look
At this point, your career is taking off and you have got an important role and responsibilities to take care of. So your professional look demands a more mature yet classy. The most important thing is comfort. You need to feel comfortable and confident in whatever you wear for your workplace. If there is a dress code, then you have to follow it strictly. Other than that, your clothing style depends entirely on your profession and your role in the company.
- One essential that you need to have in your wardrobe is a properly-made fitting suit. A neutral coloured suit will be best for this. Pair it with decent shirts and you are ready to roll.
- Footwear for workplace should always be simple and subtle. Classic pumps, ballet flats and wedges are some of the options to look for.
- Go for formal pants and A-line skirts. Skirts you choose should end below your knees. Avoid short hems, low cut dresses and extremely bold blouse patterns.
- You can pair colourful blouses, button-down shirts or sweater shirts with the pants or skirt of your suit. Opt for colours like baby blue, magenta, green, peach, turquoise etc for your blouses.
- Camisoles would look great under a suit jacket. However, they shouldn’t be low cut at any cost.
- When it comes to accessories, you have a lot of freedom as you have so many choices. You can include gold, diamond, silver, gemstones, pearls or leather, turquoise etc. The options are literally endless. Just make sure not to go too flashy with the jewelry.
Casual look
Well, casual fashion for women in their 30s is you know, casual! There are fewer rules and you can actually mix-n-match things more openly. Experimenting with new trends is also welcome for 30-something ladies. As long as you are not trying to look like you used to in your 20s, you’re good.
- Fitting matters the most in casual fashion. You need not necessarily go for high-price tag labels. If it fits, it’s fine!
- A simple blouse looks great with a long skirt in fluid fabric. Or simply pair a bright T-shirt with Capri pants.
- Floral print outfits are a great option and you can flaunt them whenever you want throughout the year. For afternoon dos, go for summer dresses with decent necklines.
- Jeans is very common among our age group because they are comfy and stylish at the same time. A pair of trendy jeans is a must-have!
- For petite women, tube dresses are a great way to flaunt your body. If you are going for printed dress or outfits, make sure not to go for large scale prints. Always wear outfits with small prints as they will make you look taller.
- If you’ve got the curves flaunt them with a pencil skirt or skinny jeans paired with a ruffled shirt.
- Earrings, a bright coloured bag and a swipe of your favorite lip gloss! It doesn’t matter where you are going. It always feels awesome to know you look great.
A few tips to follow:
- First and foremost, do not buy clothes that are not your size. Do not plan ahead, just buy another clothes if you lose or gain some pounds!
- Hide your tummy with structured jacket and trousers with a wide waistband. You can cut down wide hips just by wearing jeans or trousers with wider leg openings.
- Don’t follow teen or 20-something celebrities for fashion guide. What suits them won’t go on you.
- Don’t get stuck in a fashion rut. Mix-n-match every now and then. Add colours to your wardrobe.
- Invest in accessories more. A wide variety of jewelry, shoes, bags etc are quintessential for a fashion-conscious lady.
Most important of them all, your clothing should always be clean and wrinkle-free. And always buy clothes that fit you perfectly.
