Chicken Fried Rice Recipe

Good Chinese food cannot get any simpler. This chicken fried rice recipe is one of the best and the easiest of all times. All you need are just the basic Chinese ingredients and you can make yourself and amazing meal. And to be honest there is absolutely no need to blabber any further, let’s just get straight into the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Rice- 1 ½ cups
  • Chicken- 200 grams
  • Garlic- 1 tbsp. (chopped)
  • Soya sauce- 1 tbsp.
  • Vinegar- 1 tbsp.
  • Chilli sauce- 1 tbsp.
  • Black pepper powder- ¼ tsp.
  • Sesame oil- 2 tbsp.
  • Star anise- 1, small
  • Mace- 1 strand
  • Spring onions- 2, medium (chopped)
  • Bell pepper- ½ cup (chopped)
  • Carrot- 1, small (Chopped)

Procedure:

  1. 1. Rinse the rice with water at least twice or until the water starts flowing clear.
  2. 2. Cook the rice al dente or at the point where they are just cooked and have a little bite to them. Don’t cook the rice completely or the fried rice will turn out to be very mushy.
  3. 3. Now heat oil in a pan and add the chicken. Start cooking the chicken on a low flame until the chicken is tender and cooked.
  4. 4. Once the chicken is cooked add the sauces to the chicken and stir.
  5. 5. Transfer the chicken along with the sauces in a bowl and set it aside for around 30 minutes.
  6. 6. Now heat oil in a kadhai. Add the chopped garlic, star anise and mace to the oil and sauté for a minute.
  7. 7. Now add the chopped whites of the green onions and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  8. 8. Add the chicken along with the sauces to the kadhai and cook a little.
  9. 9. Add the bell peppers and carrots. Cook them a little. You need not cook the vegetables completely.
  10. 10. Now add the rice, salt, black pepper and the greens of the green onions. Mix all the ingredients really well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  11. 11. Serve the chicken fried rice hot.
