Today I am going to share another chutney recipe. This is a very simple coconut chutney recipe for beginners. The coconut chutney is most preferably served with dosas and idlis but I like to serve it with sandwiches and pakoras as well. At first, it may sound a little weird but trust me, this combination is way too good for you to not try. Here is a step by step recipe of the same.

- Â Open the lid of the grinder and scrape all the mixture off the sides of the grinder. Add more water and grind again. Â Repeat this process a few times until you have a smooth, thick paste.
- Â Transfer the chutney to a bowl and start with the tempering.
- Â In a small pan, heat the oil.
- Â Add the cumin, dal and red chilli.
- Â When the dal has cooked, or turned golden, add the curry leaves and the asafoetida.
- Â Pour the tempering over the chutney and mix well.
- Â Serve the chutney with idli, dosa, etc.
