1. Keep your skin clean- If you have combination or oily skin then humidity is not the best thing for your skin since it can only make things worse for you. To keep this problem under control you must keep your skin clean at all times. select a cleanser which is oil free and is non-comedogenic. Also if your skin is more prone to breakouts and acne during the humid weather then go for cleansers which have acne fight active ingredients such as salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide in them. Look out formulas with 2% salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide content. Anything more than that can dry out your skin.

2. Keep oil at bay- When you leave the house you have oil free matte skin but just after a few hours that matte effect is nowhere to be found and its place has been taken by oil, making its way out through your pores. The best way to keep oil under control is by using mattifying products. Make sure all the products you use are oil free. Also before putting on any product apply a mattifying primer on your face. This will not only control the oil production but will also reduce the appearance of large pores. If your skin still gets oily during the day, then you can also use oil blotting sheets to soak up the excess oil.

3. Choose your moisturizer wisely- Though it is a crucial step of a proper skincare routine, your moisturizer may create some problems for you during the humid weather. But it doesn’t mean that you should skip the moisturizer during this time of the year. Instead, you should just switch the moisturizer from a lotion based on a gel based one. Gel based moisturizer are great for humid weather as these get absorbed really quickly into the skin and do not add up to the oiliness. Also, switch your lotion based sunscreen to a gel based sunscreen.

4. Indulge in weekly facials- In order to keep your pores clean and oil free you must indulge in weekly facials. The various steps of the facial will leave your skin squeaky clean. Make it a point to gently exfoliate your face with a suitable scrub or baking soda. But before that take facial steam for at least 5-7 minutes as this will open up the pores and will help in cleaning them better. Follow up this step by applying a clay mask. Clay masks are generally great for humid weather as these absorb all the excess oil from the skin making it oil free and matte.
