Just because it says lemon pepper fish fry don’t think that it is overly spicy. Though we have used black pepper, green chillies and garam masala in the recipe you won’t find the chilli to be overpowering. This fish fry recipe falls under the category of the easy ones as all you have to do is marinate the fish and then fry it. You can serve the fish fry as a side dish or as the main meal depending on your preference.

Ingredients:
Fish- 500 grams
Pepper corns- 1 ½ tsp.
Fennel/saunf- ½ tsp.
Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp.
Green chilli- 2, slit
Oil- 2 tbsp.
Garam masala- ½ tsp.
For the marinade:
Lemon juice- 1 tbsp.
Turmeric- ¼ tsp.
Red chilli powder- ½ tsp.
Salt- as per taste
Procedure:
1. In a big bowl add all the ingredients mentioned under the heading “marinade” and mix well. add the fish to this and let the fish marinate.
2. Now add the fennel seeds and the peppercorns to a grinder and grind them to get a powder like consistency.
3. Now in a kadhai or wide pan heat oil. Add the ginger garlic paste and cook until the raw aroma fades away.
4. Add the marinated fish pieces to the pan/kadhai and cook it on both sides. It will take about 2-3 minutes on each side.
5. Sprinkle the fish with half of the fennel and peppercorn powder. Add the curry leaves as well.
6. Carefully flip the fish and sprinkle the remaining powder on this side. Fry the fish until it is completely cooked.
7. Sprinkle the garam masala and serve your lemon pepper fish fry with roti, bread or paratha.
