How to Make Soya Chaap with Gravy

Soya Chaap is enriched with protein and is yummy as well. We find many roadside stalls around us serving soya chaap and other variants of chaap. And unsurprisingly, too many people are swarmed around it to relish the delicacy. So instead of eating soya chaap from the unhygienic sources, let us make it at our home, in the way we want to. Making soya chaap is not that tough as it seems. So note down the recipe to make delicious soya chaap at home.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams soya chaap
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 green chilli
  • 100 gm cream
  • 3-4 tbsp. oil
  • 2-3 tbsp. finely chopped green coriander leaves
  • 1 pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/4th tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4th tsp turmeric
  • 1/4th tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4th tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves
  • 1 brown cardamom
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 clove
  • 6-7 black pepper
  • Salt as per taste

How to Make Soya Chaap with Gravy?

  1. 1. Chop the soya chaap in 1-inch chunks.
  2. 2. Heat some oil in the pan and fry the chunks in the oil till they are slightly brown. Take them out and keep them aside.
  3. 3. Grind the tomato, ginger and green chillies to make a paste.
  4. 4. Heat some oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Add asafoetida, turmeric, coriander powder, dry fenugreek seeds, whole masalas and sauté them for few minutes.
  5. 5. Add the tomato ginger paste to it. Add the red chilli powder. Sauté the mixture well until the gravy starts leaving the sides.
  6. 6. Add Garam masala and cream to it. Stir it continuously. Add some water and stir it. Add the chopped green coriander leaves and mix.
  7. 7. When the gravy starts to boil, add the soya chaap into it. Cover it and cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
  8. 8. Garnish it with fresh cream and coriander leaves.
