This recipe is a hybrid of a pizza and a sandwich. If you love pizza and you love sandwiches, then you are going to love this recipe. In this sandwich, we have used all the ingredients used to prepare a pizza. It tastes almost like a pizza but in a sandwich form. Here is a step by step recipe of the same.
Ingredients:
- Bread slices- 6
- Onion- 1, medium (chopped)
- Capsicum- 1, small (chopped)
- Pizza sauce- as per requirement
- Mozzarella cheese- ¾ cup (grated)
- Butter- for cooking
- Dried mixed herbs- as per requirement
- Red chilli flakes- 2 tsp.
- Salt- for seasoning the vegetables
Procedure:
- Â Butter all the bread slices.
- Â Place three buttered bread slices on the assembling table.
- Â Spread some pizza sauce on the bread slices.
- Â Sprinkle the chopped onion on the bread slices.
- Â Now sprinkle the capsicum on the bread slices. You can also add vegetables of your choice such as mushrooms, baby corn, etc.
- Â Season the vegetables with a little bit of salt.
- Â Add the grated mozzarella cheese on the bread slices.
- Â Sprinkle the red chilli flakes and mixed herbs.
- Â Add some more pizza sauce.
- Â Cover with another slice of bread.
- Â Heat up a grilling pan or an electric sandwich grill.
- Â Apply some butter on the outer sides of the sandwich and grill the sandwich until golden and crisp on both the sides.
- Â Serve the pizza sandwich hot with ketchup.
