A rather surprising and heartbreaking claim has been made by a recent study. Certain chemicals present in the plastic can weaken your kid’s teeth. You must be wondering how plastic could be related to your baby’s dental health?

But the truth has been spoken. The plastic in the food can disrupt the normal production of certain hormones. These hormones play an important role in building up the enamel of the teeth. But the question coming up in your mind must be- How can plastic enter our body? The answer is very simple. The containers which you use to store your food items are made up of plastic. In fact, the water bottle we generally use in our homes is made up of plastic as well. The plastic contains chemicals like BPA and Vinclozolin which are infamous as endocrine disruptors. In the research carried out, the scientist fed the lab rats with both of the chemicals in small doses and observed them for around a month. After completion of a month, they collected dental samples from each rat and the results were astonishing. The rats who were fed with those chemicals have altered and degraded enamel.

For your information, hormones like testosterone and oestrogen are also responsible for the development of teeth enamel. The chemicals disrupted the production of this hormone and so the development of the teeth enamel. As a result, the teeth are weakened. So the need of the hour is to reduce the usage of plastic for storing food items. Make sure that plastic doesn’t enter our body in any form.
