1. Bloating- If you are suffering from bloating, then there might be a possibility that it is happening because your sodium intake is very high. Often too much salt intake may lead to water retention in the body and thus leads to bloating. Though bloating may not sound like a very serious problem but it can cause a lot of discomforts and thus it is better to be avoided.

2. High blood pressure- This one is nothing new as most of us are very much aware of the relationship between salt and blood pressure. The blood pressure level is directly proportionate with the sodium level in the body. The more the salt intake the higher will be the blood pressure level. To keep the blood pressure level in control you must restrict your sodium intake to a minimum.

3. Increased risk of heart disease- Salt is very important for our body but the excess of it can severely harm the body. Excess salt intake may up the risk of heart failure, coronary heart disease, and strokes to a great extent.

4. Kidney issues- Our kidney is the organs that help in filtering the unwanted materials from the body. When the blood pressure gets disturbed due to the excessive salt intake it puts excess strain on the kidneys which may eventually lead to the kidney failure.

5. Skin issues- Increased salt intake may also have an adverse effect on your skin as well. Excess salt intake may lead to edema. A person suffering from edema may have his/her legs, ankles and arms swollen. Apart from that too much salt intake may cause flare up your acne if you are already suffering from it.
