Bamboo rice, also called Mulayari. It is a healthier and lesser-known variety of rice grown from the dried bamboo shoot. When the bamboo shoots reach their last stage it starts flowering and produces seeds for new trees to grow. These seeds are actually bamboo rice. These seeds are tiny, green in colour and shaped like rice. The seeds are then dried, like other grain and used like the rice.
