4. Results in vitamin E overdose


Almonds are very rich in vitamin E. Also, consuming them too much may result in the vitamin E overdose. Though overconsuming of vitamin E by just eating the almond is unlikely as a person cannot eat many almonds, it is important we are aware of all the repercussions.

5. Leads to allergies


Like cashews and walnuts, the almonds could cause tree nut allergy in the U.S. Amandin, which is a type of protein in almonds, is found to cause allergy.

Almonds might cause some oral allergy syndromes in a few individuals. The symptoms might be swelling of tongue, lips, mouth, and scratchy throat, and itchy mouth.

How many almonds should you eat per day?

One ounce of almond contains 23 kernels. There is no proof how many almonds you should consume in one day to avoid the side effects. But some evidence reveals that controlling daily intake to 12 to 16 almonds per day. Also, it is best to soak the almond so that fiber gets even more bioavailable.
